I'm Dumont Walker, a husband, father, nonprofit leader, and candidate for Georgia House District 46. I believe leadership begins with service, is rooted in humility, is driven by passion, is strengthened through unity, and is grounded in gratitude for the opportunity to serve others. Those values have shaped my life and are the foundation of both my career and my campaign.

I was born in Virginia and raised by my mother after the loss of my father at an early age. Although I never had the opportunity to know him, his legacy of service as an elementary school principal remained an important part of our family's story. My mother went on to earn her Ph.D. and dedicate her career to higher education, demonstrating every day the transformative power of education, perseverance, and public service. Surrounded by a family that believed deeply in faith, education, and giving back, I learned that when your community faces challenges, you step forward and help.

I graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati, where I became a standout rugby player. The sport took me around the world and taught me discipline, resilience, teamwork, and perseverance. After my playing career, I coached and mentored collegiate and professional athletes, helping young men and women grow as leaders on and off the field.

For nearly two decades, I've dedicated my career to helping nonprofit organizations strengthen communities, build partnerships, and create opportunities for people whose voices are too often overlooked. Throughout my work, I've learned that lasting change happens when we listen first, bring people together, and work side by side to solve problems.

As a husband and father of two young children, those lessons have taken on even greater meaning. Like so many families across Georgia, I think every day about the future we're creating for the next generation. I believe every family deserves the opportunity not just to get by, but to build resilience, to face life's challenges with confidence, and create a brighter future for their children.

That’s why I’m running for the Georgia House: to help families build resilience by lowering costs, strengthening public education, expanding access to affordable healthcare, and protecting our fundamental freedoms. I believe government works best when it listens first, brings people together, and never loses sight of who it is called to serve.
